Commercial intercom systems fill a need where a business has a communication problem in part of their building.   These intercoms improve productivity, increase safety, and make for more satisfied employees.  Although a telephone system can fill most needs, a commercial intercom system helps when there are only a few areas that require additional communication. Also if there is an area requiring a wireless solution, then an intercom might be the solution.
